WHAT IS SKIN NEEDLING?
Skin Needling is a sophisticated technique which promotes the body's natural
production of collagen and melanin (pigment). This process smooths out scars,
wrinkles and can even the tones of some skin discolorations. This non-envasive
intradermabrasion procedure is long lasting and all natural rejuvenation for the
skin similar to laser resurfacing.
HOW DOES SKIN NEEDLING WORK?
Skin Needling is accomplished through microscopic punctures made to the epidermis.
This stimulates the body’s natural wound healing by breaking up old collagen strands
in scars and wrinkles to produce natural collagen and melanin, making smoother skin.
Skin Needling simulates the effects of those from laser resurfacing, but without the
harsh damage to the epidermis.
HOW LONG DOES SKIN NEEDLING LAST?
Some clients see immediate results from skin needling, others notice improvement
gradually over an 8 week period, up to 3 months. Individual results vary as each body's
regeneration is unique. Use of other skin treatments including vitamins A and C, can
help prevent loss of collagen, and scars remain plump. Most clients require multiple
sessions to achieve desired results that generally can last years.
IS SKIN NEEDLING SAFE?
Skin Needling is safe, and because nothing is injected, allergic reactions and side-
effects are non-existent. Skin Needling is a minimally invasive procedure. With rapid
healing, low downtime and simple aftercare, skin needling is an attractive solution for
scars and wrinkles for most people.
SKIN NEEDLING CAN BE USED TO TREAT:
SCARS FROM ACNE & INJURIES
The pitted scars left from acne, chicken pox, and other injuries can be plumped with
skin needling to give the skin a more even, smoother texture. Scars from surgeries,
ncluding tummy tucks, can also benefit from needling. The skin color can be evened
out so the differences in tone are more subtle. Works for face and body.
STRETCH MARKS & WHITE SCARS
Skin Needling can also activate the production of melanin to restore a more even,
natural skin tone to white or light scars. This is good for scars that are lighter from
injuries, surgeries, and stretch marks. Works on most skin types. UV exposure
during healing can improve results.
WRINKLES ON FACE & NECK
Fine, medium, or heavy wrinkles all respond well to skin needling. Natural collagen
is produced to fill lines for more smooth skin. The results are very similar to those
from lasers, but is more gentle to the skin. Needling may not completely erase lines,
but clients report being told their skin looks years younger.
SCAR RELAXING:
Scar tissue that is tight or impairs movement can be softened and relaxed to increase
flexibility and movement in scars. This use of skin needling is primarily for burn
survivors.
